- Peppers, sweet, red (bell), roasted, canned or jarred -- drained oz 7 1/2
- Sugar, granulated tablespoon 1
- Salt -- divided teaspoon 1 1/4
- Beef, ground, extra lean, (approximately 17% fat), raw lb 1 1/2
- Cheese, cream -- softened oz 3
- Peppers, jalapeno, raw -- minced or 2 Tbsp. chopped green chilis medium 1
- Buns, hamburger roll 4
- Onions, raw -- sliced, optional for topping medium 1
- Peppers, jalapeno, raw -- sliced, optional for topping medium 1
Methods/steps
- To make pepper ketchup: Process peppers, sugar and 1 tsp. salt in a blender. Pour into a small saucepan and cook over medium heat 4 minutes or until thickened.
- Combine ground beef and remaining 1/4 tsp. salt - shape into thin patties.
- Combine cream cheese and jalapeno pepper - divide evenly in the center of half the patties (do not spread to edges).
- Top with remaining patties and press edges to seal.
- Grill covered with grill lid over medium-high heat 4-5 minutes per side or until done.
- Serve on buns with pepper ketchup and desired toppings.
