  • Catsup cup 1/4
  • Sugar, brown tablespoon 3
  • Vinegar, white (distilled) tablespoon 3
  • Ginger, ground teaspoon 1/4
  • Soy sauce teaspoon 1
  • Paprika teaspoon 1/4
  • Chili powder teaspoon 1/4
  • Garlic powder teaspoon 1/4
  • Onion powder teaspoon 1/4
  • Thyme, dried, ground teaspoon 1/4
  • Basil, ground, dry teaspoon 1/4
  • Oregano, ground (dried) teaspoon 1/4
  • Salt teaspoon 1/4
  • Pepper, black, ground teaspoon 1/4
  • Chicken, broilers or fryers, whole, raw -- cut into 8 pieces lb 2 1/4
  • Flour, white, all-purpose, enriched, bleached cup 1/2
  • Oil, safflower cup 1/4

Methods/steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the lemonade concentrate, catsup, brown sugar, vinegar, ginger, soy sauce and seasonings.
  2. Dredge the chicken in the flour.
  3. Heat the oil in a large kettle or Dutch oven; brown the chicken.
  4. Drain any excess oil.
  5. Pour the sauce over the chicken, cook over low heat for 35-40 minutes covered.
